Going for a spin

We celebrated Mr. Beans' 10th birthday today, a couple days before his actual birthday.  Mr. Beans wanted a skating party this year so we all went to Skate City.

Mr. Beans is sure a handsome little guy.  Of course, it's no longer cool for grammy to give him a kiss in public, but I can call him handsome or maybe even cute on my blog.

Pappy is such a good grandpa.  He put on a pair of skates and took several turns around the rink.  Fortunately, he stayed on his feet and didn't break or strain anything.

Mom, who has lately been reminding us what a great skater she was in her youth, also put on the skates.  She did pretty good too, although she did admit it wasn't as easy as she remembered.  (By the way, it is "Mom" now, not "Mommy".)

The boys had a good time, mostly.  One little boy, the birthday boy, said he would rather be playing video games.  Kind of strange since he's the one who chose a skating party.  Oh well, his friends had fun skating even if Mr. Beans didn't.

The one lone girl, Miss A., always has a good time.  Her and Mr. Beans have been friends for a long time.  She's actually my friend's daughter.  She's also going to be the flower girl at J's wedding.

Speaking of J, she showed up about an hour late and was then ready to leave in about 5 minutes.  She said she's too old for these kiddie parties.  (I don't think she enjoyed the noise level, kids everywhere, and constant chaos).   I reminded her that her time for being at kiddie parties as an adult hasn't even started yet.

After two hours at the skating rink it was time to go home (Thank Goodness!).

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MR. BEANS!!

It looks like a fun time was had by everybody. Mr. Beans is turning into quite the handsome young man.

Your comments about J made me laugh. Wait till she goes to a Chuckie Cheese kid party!

That's funny about J because I remember a birthday party at Holiday Inn in Manhattan that I got suckered into helping with. I believe there were like 100 little girls running around playing mini-golf all day long.

Now THAT was chaotic.
