Disarray
My life is in total disarray at the moment. Why, you ask?
It's all of my own doing. We've lived in this house for 10 years and we've had all the flooring replaced except for the carpet in the master bedroom and office. The time has come to replace that carpet so things are out of order...they're in disarray.
If you know me then you know that I like order and cleanliness. Clutter and disarray throw me out of whack.
This is my living room which is now stuffed full of bedroom and office furniture. Disarray.
Same story with the office except that Irv's computer desk is still assembled. This will be the last thing disassembled before the carpet installers arrive on Tuesday...after all, we don't want him to miss one minute of his "killing" games.
My water bed is in the process of being drained. Ugh. This means I'm going to have to sleep in the guest room for a few days. I love this water bed...ultra comfy.
Worst of all...my closet has been emptied out into the other guest room. Yes, I have lots of clothes, but I am a hard-working professional woman earns her own paycheck so hush, please (that means you Irv).
There is one good thing about disarray--it's an opportunity to clean things out, paint the walls, and get rid of anything we haven't used in a year. I can't stand clutter, but Irv on the other hand doesn't mind clutter (I thinks he comes by it naturally though). Spic and span is what it will be like when it's all done so that gives me something to look forward to.
I have one piece of advice for anyone who is considering new carpeting. Don't run a 10K just three days before the carpet is going to be installed. It wasn't fun having to move all this stuff when every muscle in my body hurt. Maybe space things a little further apart so there is some recovery time.
So my life will be in disarray for a few days--then I'll have the after pictures. It's going to be great (I think)!
