Resolutions & Selfies
I've already broken one of my New Year's resolutions, not that I
believe in resolutions. When I used to belong to a gym I used to dread
the first few weeks of the year. The gym would be packed and it would
be impossible to find a treadmill. Now that my gym is in my garage and
the basement of my office, I don't have to put up with all those people
who think a new year is going to make them change their ways.
You see, taking care of your body has to be a life style, not a whim when you want to suddenly lose 10 pounds. Now I'll be the first to admit that my body is far from perfect. I've struggled with weight my entire life, but it's not from a lack of trying. I'm pretty sure I would be eligible to be on that 600 pound reality TV show if I didn't put the effort in to keep the weight somewhat under control. I'm just so glad I'm a pear instead of an apple like some family members I know (not naming any names). I'd hate to have a huge belly, having a huge bum is much more preferable (to me anyway).
Anyway, back to the topic of this post. Blogging every day in January was my resolution. I've already failed, but let me try to make up for it since it's only the 5th day of the month. Keep in mind that life can be quite dull this time of year so some of my posts might be extremely boring.
Having warned you, the topic of today's post is selfies. You know, those pictures that people are constantly taking of themselves with their cell phones and then posting on social media. I'm guilty of this myself usually at races where I'm alone. I like to document the races I've participated in and when you're by yourself, a selfie is the perfect answer.
Here's what happens when your better half receives a selfie stick as a Christmas present.

You'll notice the blur. Apparently holding steady while taking a selfie with the stick is very important.
Bunny ears on a very cold Idaho Falls Christmas Eve.
A true selfie of himself.
In front of the falls in Idaho Falls. Yes, they are frozen over.
A teeth selfie.
A wierd reflection by Jillian's nose or something...
Will
someone please take that stick away from that silly man? I just hope
he doesn't accidentally back over a cliff or river bank while trying to
capture the perfect selfie.
I
hear Disney has banned selfie sticks. What a bummer! We're going to
be there in 10 days and what better way to document a trip than taking
selfies on Space Mountain? Maybe Irv can sneak his in.

I don't take that many selfies of myself. I don't like the way I look. I like pics of other folks.
So that is like two selfies of Dad. He needs to pick up the pace.
