Summer is finally here!
It has been a pretty exciting week so far. Diesel's mom and dad made it home from their honeymoon. Keira and Cody were kind of happy to see him go home, they've been sleeping non-stop since he left.
Diesel was worn out while he was here too, this is him stretched out in our bed sleeping.
We got our veggie patch planted--we're still waiting for rain.
We're working on a landscaping project in the front yard, but we're not finished so I can't show you the whole thing yet. (Yes, another project that requires water in the high desert.)
I ordered a new cell phone and it arrived today. It's an iPhone. Now I just need someone to come teach me how to use it. I wonder if I can blog from my iPhone??
Best of all--summer flex time started this week. My teammates and I have been slowly easing our boss into the idea of flex time. Two years ago we got a couple hours of flex time every other week. Last year we got half a day of flex time every other week. This year we get half a day of flex time EVERY week. Yahoo! I'll take half a day. The only bad thing--I have to be at work by 7:00 every morning.
I've been with Farm Credit nearly five years and I'm still low on the totem pole so I don't get Fridays off, I get Wednesdays. It's kind of nice taking time off in the middle of the week.
So what did I do with my first afternoon off? I reviewed horse bowl questions. The 4-H state conference horse bowl contest is in three weeks and as superintendent I put the questions together. Each team gets to submit 60 questions for the contest and I go through and re-word them so that teams demonstrate their knowledge rather than their memorization skills. It's a lot of work, but I love it!

Hope you have fun with it!
I've had one whole day of flex time every two weeks and I love it. I work until 6 which is tiresome, especially in the winter, but the extra day is worth it.
