Booster is onboard!
I'm so thankful to live in a state that has a governor who cares about public safety. A little over a week ago he signed an Executive Order that declared the entire state a high risk area which opened up the Covid booster shot for anyone over the age of 18. At that time only Colorado and California were allowing that. Since then a few other states have joined us.
I got online and made us an appointment for the booster. I'm so thankful we were able to do this because we're traveling out of state a couple times in the next few weeks. It just makes me feel a little safer since you can't usually trust the anti-vaxers to do the right thing.
We arrived for our 11:15 appointment and there was a very long line meandering through the parking lot. A very nice young guy was letting everyone know the wait was going to be about two hours even if you have an appointment. I could tell he was preparing to become defensive about the wait, but we told him that was no big deal and we were just glad to have this opportunity. Some people must be some real A##H@@@@s.
We're getting there.
After about an hour and a half it was our turn! I'm not sure I really liked getting the shot in the car because I didn't feel it allowed me to really relax my arm to reduce some of the soreness.
Then it was Irv's turn.
Final step was a 15 minute wait to make sure it wasn't going to kill us. The medical professionals working that day were great. If I had it to do over again I would have brought them a big basket of treats.
With my first two shots I only had a slightly sore arm. This one, however, kicked my butt. I had every side effect possible: chills, headache, nausea, fever and an overwhelming exhaustion. Finally after 48 hours I'm feeling better, I even got a couple miles done on the treadmill this morning.
Thank you Governor Pollis for doing everything possible to keep us protected!
