Not much progress
Well, we're on day 29 of our kitchen remodeling project. In the last 2 weeks I've only seen our crew for a total of 3 hours. They got pulled to another job and haven't been back. The majority of the big stuff is done, but there are lot of little details that need to be finished.
I thought I'd show up some of what is done.
Then there's the big drawers. Look at these organized Tupperware drawers! Now if they only stay looking like this--I'm much more of an organization freak than my hubby, he kinda likes to just throw things in.
and this is where the microwave should reside. For 29 days we've been living old school--warming things up on the stove and washing dishes by hand. I remember those days long, long ago and I'll be happy when I can return to the modern day conveniences.

Our enormous pantry is ready to go. They make cabinets so much smarter these days. The lower half of the pantry is all drawers. At first I wasn't sure how I'd like them, but I love them! It makes so much more sense than shelves that sometimes require you to get down on your hands and knees to see what's in the back corner.
Also, all of our corner cabinets have lazy Susan's. This is something else that I love, especially this huge one that will hold all the over-sized Tupperware, mixing bowls, and miscellaneous stuff.

Please note this is where the dishwasher normally resides and...

The upper corners are also lazy Susan's. Great for storing glasses.
My island has large drawers for storing pots and pans. Way more convenient than shelves!
More baking pan storage. We have only two traditional shelves in the lower cabinets.
The best news is that our quartz counter-tops will be installed two weeks from Friday. I called the contractor yesterday and told them that the lowers had to be finished by Feb. 16th in preparation for the counter-top's arrival. I'll give them a few more days to get out here on their own before I get cranky with them.
There's a thin line women have to cross when it comes to directing males. If you're too demanding then you're a "B", if you're kind and not demanding then you're too soft. I'm trying to maintain a good working relationship with these guys, but it's getting close to #timesup!
Hopefully next week I'll have more of an update.
