Circle of Fire
Today I got paid to go on the Circle of Fire tour. It's a trip around the lower loop in Yellowstone. The concessionaire I'm working for wants all employees to know as much about the park as possible so we can answer guest's questions. They put us on buses with tour guides and they practice on us.
The park still has some of these vintage 1970s era buses. I thought it was pretty cool.

We started where I live, Grant Village, which is right on Lake Yellowstone.
Lake Yellowstone is the largest high altitude lake in the U.S. at 7,500 feet.
Lake Lodge is absolutely beautiful. Some day I'm going to stay there as a guest.
We got to see this big guy swimming across the Yellowstone River.
Then of course a stop at Canyon to visit my very favorite Yellowstone feature.
Onto the Chocolate Pots.
Gibbon Falls.
Then on to Fountain Paint Pots. The photo above is of Celestine Pool--for those of you who read "Death in Yellowstone", this is where a man jumped in trying to rescue his friend's dog. Neither survived.
The final stop was Old Faithful Inn which was designed by a 29-year old architect by the name of Robert Reamer in 1902ish.
It's amazing! If anyone ever wants to get me a special gift--a couple nights at the Inn would be much appreciated.
Five more days of training then I get a couple days off before the campground opens next Friday. There's still 2-3 feet of snow in the campground and many downed trees. It's going to be an interesting week.
