Let the Yellowstone Adventure Begin!

We have arrived!  Yellowstone is all I expected it to be an more this early in the season and more.  Hardly any people and lots of critters.

I've been loading up in the company van every morning and going to Old Faithful for training.  It's only a 17 minute drive, but it takes abut 45 minutes.  Irv has had the opportunity to go out and play when he's not fixing something in the trailer.  We've had water leaks and other little things that have required his attention.

We've had quite the wildlife adventure so far.  This guy was outside our camper when we camped in the Gros Ventre Campground in the Teton National Park the night before moving into Yellowstone.

Here he is after getting up from his morning nap and meandering off into the woods.

The roads in Yellowstone are crowded with bison who really don't care if cars think they have the right of way.  It's so cool to have them walk right past the car.

Irv drove a bunch of us campground workers up to Gardiner, MT for our check-in and employee orientation.  He went sightseeing while we did what we needed to do.  The snows are melting and the rivers and streams are flowing very fast.

It's also "red dog" time.  Red dogs are what the baby bison are called.  They are everywhere and they are ADORABLE!

There's a reason this place is my favorite place on earth.  It's majestic, it's rugged, it's wild, and it is BEAUTIFUL!  Yellowstone is in my blood and I'm so thankful to have this opportunity!

Having said that, the cellular service in Yellowstone really sucks!  At my campsite the phone will work, but Internet is very sketchy.  It seems like once an hour or so they let some data through.  I had hoped to keep up a blog journal of my summer, but I've got to hike or drive down to the employee dorm to pick up the wireless.

My sweetie has to leave tomorrow.  It's going to be so lonely without him, but this summer is going to be a good time to really get to know Yellowstone and myself even better.  Being almost unplugged from the rest of the world will be a new and refreshing experience.
