One more down...four to go

I'm finished.

Yeah!

Celebration time!

This morning I finished the final paper for the class I'm currently enrolled in--Network Enterprise Solutions.

Sounds exciting, don't you think?

This has been the most challenging class I've taken yet.  20-page papers due every week.  It dominated my time as you may be able to tell by my sporadic blogging the last eight weeks.

What did I do to celebrate?  I cleaned my house.  This class has taken over my spare time for the last eight weeks and the house has suffered.  Irv has tried his hardest to help me keep it clean, but we have different standards--thanks honey, I know you try hard and I appreciate everything you do.

My school work has taken over our kitchen table.  I have my own office, but I don't like to be locked away by myself.  Therefore, my two laptops and I have set up camp on the kitchen table.  Why two laptops?  I have one to do my research on while I type on the other--it's very handy.

My networking classes don't come with a book--everything is online.  Since I'm the type who likes to have something I can study and write notes on, I print out all the pertinent parts from my online "book".  Yes, I know it's a waste of trees, but I need it.

So 4 more classes or 32 more weeks to go before I'm finished.  My laptop and I will even be making the trip to Hawaii together and as I figure it, the week of the wedding will be finals weeks.  I can do, I can do it, I can do it.

For those of you who don't think an education is valuable--last week our President/CEO called a meeting to announce a bunch of new changes.  One of those changes is that I will be moving to the IT Department full-time on September 16th.  For the past 6 years I've been part operations and part IT.  It feels really good to finally achieve one of my goals and I couldn't have done it without the work I've put into this degree.

One more thing to celebrate!

(And one more thing...my instructor already graded my paper and I got an A!)
