Snow, Snow Go Away!
For anyone who might not know this fact about me...I HATE cold and snow! This fact has nothing to do with my turning 60, it's been a fact since the day I was born. Why then am I living in Colorado? We have snow forecast for the next six out of seven days.
Yesterday morning when I went out to feed the horses we had a dusting on the ground. Within a couple hours we had a couple inches.
Our forecast had been for a trace to two inches. We were quickly surpassing that weather forecast guess. I'm told it's really difficult to forecast the weather here on the front range and therefore the forecast is quite often a best guess.
By early afternoon the snow had become too deep for Maisy to be able to "do her business". Don't worry though, I went out and cleared an area that she could move around in. See that look on her face? That's the same look I get when I have to be out in the snow.
We were supposed to go into town to celebrate Mary's birthday. I went out around 4:00 to shovel the driveway and walk ways. I quickly realized we had more like a foot of snow and that I wouldn't be going anywhere in my car.
This morning I once again went out early to feed the big critters. The sun was rising, the air was crisp, and it was going to be a glorious day. As I made my way out to the barn I thought "why oh why did we give the snowblower to Jillian and Brian? If we had the snowblower we could have cleared a path to the barn." Figures, doesn't it? We had my dad's snowblower for the last three years and only used it a couple times. Now that it's in Iowa we could have used it several times this winter already. Oh well.
Now I'm watching the snow slowly start to fall off the roof. I sure hope I'm not standing under there when it decides to come down.
The snow is especially beautiful and our pasture really needs the moisture to produce grass next summer, but snow is snow and I'd prefer to live somewhere where the white stuff doesn't fall. My hubby on the other hand would be just as content to stay on the frozen tundra. He doesn't have even an ounce of my adventurous spirit or wanderlust. I'd be willing to move just about anywhere it's warm, but my preference would be Arizona. Although AZ is a red state and I'm not sure I could stand being surrounded by people who support the GOP and its leaders if you know what I mean. Maybe Florida? They at least have the potential to be a blue state.
So, I'll keep working on my hubby to make the move to a warm place. In the meantime, I'll be curled up under a blanket or two in front of the fire attempting to keep warm.

(And realistically, it is not related to genetics or some secret diet and EVERYTHING around "how" they are eating.)
P.S, What I said is "HOW", and not "what"...
