Cabin Fever
I'm getting really tired of winter! We've had a very mild winter with only a couple dustings of snow and it has been unseasonably warm except when it is bone-chilling cold.
This morning we woke up to our biggest snow of the season--maybe an inch.
It may not be much, but I'm grateful for it--especially since I didn't have to drive to work on the icy roads.
I'm getting cabin fever. For a person who likes to be outside on the hiking trails this winter has been tough. I've had to stay home every day that they're here working on our kitchen remodel. The cold keeps me inside too. I really, really, really cannot take the ice cold air.
On Sunday we planned to go explore Bear Creek Park then we were going to take Maisy to the small dog park before going to a new dog pub for lunch. We woke up Sunday morning to freezing drizzle, howling winds, and bone-chilling cold. So much for those plans--it never got above 20 degrees all day. It was a good day for watching football and it turned out to be a great game!
Then yesterday morning I took the big plunge--I went to a Weight Watchers meeting and reactivated my membership. After my dad died I took comfort in food and now it's time to get it off so I'm back at Weight Watchers for a tune up. They have such a great program--it provides support and most importantly, accountability for having a successful weight loss experience. Wouldn't you know that Irv walked in the door last night with a whole bag of Girl Scout cookies. I made him take them right back to his car!
So, the weather is supposed to be warmer later this week so I hope to get over to Garden of the Gods and take a spin on my favorite trail. Being out on the trails is life to me, it rejuvenates my soul!

I need a weight watchers program. Since I am still not running the weight is creeping up slowly. I am stationary biking and other stuff but nothing beats running in terms of calories burned per minute.
