On Sunday night Irv, Mr. Beans, JP, and I ventured out to Sky Sox Stadium for my first ever Sky Sox experience. We've lived here for 12 years and used to live a couple miles from the stadium, but I had never been to a game there. I love going to Rockies games but it costs an arm and a leg to take the family to Denver for a game so I thought we'd see how a Sky Sox game compares.

The Sky Sox are a AAA minor league baseball team. Many of the Rockies have played for the Sky Sox and they come here after an injury to get back in shape before returning to the Rockies. A couple weeks ago Tulo played a couple games here and on Sunday night Matsui and Jonathan Herrera were both in the Sky Sox line up.

The game started and we enjoyed our $0.50 hot dogs. However, the Sox started off badly and it just got worse. Around the 5th inning it started raining and by the 6th inning we had a full blown thunder and lightening storm on our hands. We made the decision to leave at the bottom of the 6th and I'm sure it wasn't long after that that the game was called. The Sky Sox lost to the Oklahoma City Redhawks 5-2.
It was a good time, but didn't come compare to a Rockies game. Hopefully we'll do it again before another 12 years goes by.
