It's the RV Show time of the year!
It's that time of year...RV Shows! We've been to two of them so far this month and they couldn't have been more different.
The first was here in Colorado Springs.
Afterwards we had lunch at Whataburger....a treat we don't have here in Colorado.
We didn't find the rig we're looking for at either show so I guess there's more RV shows in our future. I'm sure Irv is very thrilled about that.
The first was here in Colorado Springs.
We're looking for a 30 foot fifth wheel that is light weight. That doesn't stop me from wondering into some of the larger more luxurious models like the one above. I love how they make the new rigs so modern and open. This one has a bar rather than the standard table and look at the size of that refrigerator!
The focus in Colorado was on the tactical rigs that go can into the back country or...
the tiny rigs that are easy to haul and provide everything you need in a compact space.
Since I plan to live in my new rig for several months a year I like the comforts of home like a sofa and...
a fireplace! These fireplaces actually provide heat so they're not just pretty to look at.
Here's one that has the sleeping quarters up top. I'm not sure how it would be go go down that ladder in the middle of the night if nature calls.
This one had living quarters up front and...
...space to load your jeep (or other vehicle/toys) in the back.
These tactical units are meant for survival.
They're outfitted with radios and everything you need to survive the Zombie Apocalypse.
Here's a popup version.
Refrigerator, cook top, sink. Everything you need to survive and it all comes in an...
...easy to transport package.
It even has a toilet of sorts (never in a million years will I use one of these).
And a shower of course.
The second RV show we attended was in Glendale, Arizona.
I finally found someone who loves RV shows as much as I do!
Our little granddaughter ran from unit to unit. She had to go in every one of them.
These were all the big fancy rigs. Above is a king sized bed.
This one has a deck on the rear end. I never understood the deck on an RV. Why not just go outside, then the whole outdoors is your deck.
Miss G loved the bunkhouse units that were outfitted with bunk beds just for her!
This one had a loft above the toy hauler section.
She had so much fun. A girl after my heart!
After checking out all the fifth wheels we looked at a few of the motor homes. Miss G liked this one with private bunk beds.
This RV show was held in the parking lot of the State Farm Stadium where the Cardinals play. It is a massive and very impressive structure.

I have thought about the tactical units because if I go camping it will be by myself!! I don't think they would be too bad for just one person.
Those portable toilets. I visited a couple I know last week who spend weekends on a houseboat at a lake. They have one of the portable units and the husband loads it in their little wagon and hauls up the dock somewhere to go dump. No sir, not for me!!!!
My main problem with a trailer is where do I put the dern thing?
