Commencement Time

Here I am way behind on my blogging again.  So many exciting things to blog about and no time to get it done.

Let's go back two weeks.  We traveled down to Las Cruces, NM to attend one of our favorite nephew's graduations from New Mexico State University.  (BTW, we have lots of favorite nephews.)

We love all these special celebrations because we get to hang out with family.  There's nothing more important than family!

Here's the graduate with his proud parents and brother.  He is a Business major and I think he likes economics.  Economics was my downfall in college--the only class that I didn't get an A in.  My professor gave me an A-.  Now, you may not think that's such a big deal, but it brought my GPA down to a 3.98.   As a perfectionist this will undoubtedly bother me until the day I die.

And here he is with his favorite aunt and uncle.

Any good celebration involves food and when you're in New Mexico you have to indulge in green chili.  I had this bowl of green chili stew.  I'm pretty sure I died and went to heaven that day.

Irv was a little more brave than usual and went for the green chili alfredo.  Another winner!  I'm telling you that anything covered in green chili is delicious.  I could live on green chili!

Another great thing about celebrations is the cake.  I love cake!

After eating all this delicious food we had to do something to try to keep the green chili stew from becoming a permanent fixture on the hips.  I blogged about our hike to Dripping Springs a while back.

It was really nice to have the graduate's brother join us on the hike.  This nephew lives just up the road in Golden, CO.  He's a graduate student at the School of Mines.  I think that's pretty much all I need to say.  Smart, really smart plus kind and caring too.  A perfect combination.

Nothing is more fun than hanging out with my SILs.  Luckily Irv has a wonderful sister and his brothers married some very special ladies who are some of my best friends.

What about this guy?  Traveling anywhere with him makes my life complete.  A great weekend with great family topped with green chili.  What could be better?
