Skywatch Friday: Windmill in the desert

Today I'm going to the archives for my Skywatch shot of the week.  In the spring I visited the Boyce Thompson Arboretum near Surprise, AZ.

I'm an oil artist and I've been contemplating using this windmill as my next subject.  I love the desert bushes and trees, the old fashion fence is cool too.  The shadows might add an interesting element.

I think I've convinced myself to add it to my long list of projects.  What hobbies spark your creativity and keep you busy?

This is a great photo. You don't see so many windmills any more. Seems like the ranchers I run into back in the day much preferred solar powered water pumps. Cheaper and a lot less maintenance but I have yet to see a solar pump that I wanted to take a photo of. And the rambly fence, the dirt road, and the great shadows add to it as well.
