A quick trip to warmth and sunshine
We made a quick trip to Arizona last week to stay with our granddaughter while her parents went on a much deserved weekend getaway.
For the first time ever we got to hand deliver a valentine. She named him "Valentino" and he was a big hit. I'm sure he's lost status by now.
We got to go to one of her figure skating practices. On this day she skated before school and again after school. She spends a lot of time at the rink and her hard work shows.
One of her favorite things to do with us is Medieval Times in Scottsdale. It's a special treat that happens when Grammy and Pappy come for a visit.
We were part of the green team and G was all dressed up for the occasion. Of course she needed a crown--she's our princess.
Grammy comes just to see the majestic horses.
There's the green knight who was the ultimate victor of the night winning the jousting and sparring with the other knights.
It's a fun time for all and I highly recommend it if you're ever near one.
Be still my heart.
Amazing war horses!
The hawk was pretty cool also.
When the green night came out he looked right at G and threw her the first flower of the evening.
The next day we got up and took her to gymnastics practice.
She's a busy girl.
Then it was time for a movie. We went to see Migration. It wasn't until after we bought the large popcorn that she reminded us she can't eat popcorn. Orthodontia is coming soon!
She'd been begging all day to go to an arcade and guess what? An arcade was attached to the theater.
The next day she agreed to go to the Chandler Art and Wine Festival. She was such a good sport while Grammy looked through the art and sampled the wine.
Then she thought it would be really funny if she sampled the wine. (Don't worry, it's lemonade)
She was rewarded for her patient behavior with a scoop of ice cream.
Then it was time to go rock shopping. She picked out a stone for Pappy to make into a necklace for her.
Grammy had to make a stop at her favorite fruit stand for some fresh Arizona oranges. I sure wish we could spend every winter there.
Then it was time for arts and crafts.
I'm afraid Grammy got their kitchen covered with glitter.
The last activity before her parents came back home was G's attempt to turn her Pappy and I into Swifties. The only problem is that we can't remember the lyrics and we got yelled at if we even missed one word. There's no hope for us.
I sure wished we lived closer to this girl. I love her so much!
